Although traditional talk therapy does involve discussing past experiences in some detail, our approach focuses more on the meaning and beliefs derived from these experiences. We also offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) that only requires you to discuss physical sensations and emotions associated with previous events.
Therapy is for everyone! Life brings challenges and emotions do not discriminate. Everyone has the potential to experience painful or difficult emotions and reactions regardless of your background or strength. Therapy can also be helpful for gaining insight or clarity about a life decision or situation or improving confidence and communication among many other aspects to improving quality of life.
For most people therapy is a fairly brief experience lasting a few weeks to a few months. The timeframe for improvement depends on a variety of factors including frequency of sessions, client participation, and the type of approach being used. While most experiences with therapy are fairly brief, this doesn't necessarily mean you will experience improvement after one session. In much the same way a bruise gets darker as it's healing, therapy sometimes brings painful realizations forward in the beginning which may increase some symptoms briefly while you begin the healing process.
