Element Counseling is proud to partner with Bernice Fomunung of NaKuna Mental Wellness! Bernice is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), specializing in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions and substance use disorders. She integrates medication management with therapeutic interventions to deliver care. With an extensive background in various mental health settings, including hospitals, clinics, and correctional facilities, Bernice provides expert psychiatric care across the lifespan.

Bernice is currently accepting clients ages 10+ through telehealth or in-person in Frisco, TX. Evening and Saturday appointments available.
My Story
Bernice earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing, with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health, from The University of Texas at Arlington. She treats a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar and mood disorders, eating disorders, OCD, psychosis, PTSD, complex PTSD, and grief-related conditions, addressing cases from mild to severe.
Her approach to care is grounded in culturally sensitive, trauma-informed principles and guided by holistic, evidence-based practices. With over seven years of experience in the field, Bernice combines her clinical expertise with exceptional critical thinking skills and personal lived experiences. This unique perspective enables her to offer empathetic, insightful, and effective care to her patients.
